The Taste of Money






The Taste of Money (돈의 맛) is a 2012 South Korean erotic suspense film about a conglomerate-owning family. It triggered controversy and hype with its portrayal of the lives of the privileged in Korean society, exploring themes of sex and money, greed and ambition. A decadent and sensational film that presents biting commentary on the rich and famous, it is Im Sang-soo’s seventh film

Yoon is the CEO of a large company and his family is one of the richest and most powerful in Korea. However, Yoon’s wife, madam Baek, wields the real power in the family. She comes from a very wealthy background. Yoon didn’t marry her for love, but rather for her money and he has now started an affair with his Filipino maid (Maui Taylor). When madam Baek learns of this betrayal, she retaliates by seducing Yoon’s secretary Young-Jak. To complicate things further, their son Chul gets arrested for unethical dealings with an American politician and their daughter Nami develops an attraction to her mother’s lover.
